Makeover needed: Playboy {BloggingStocks}

Oct 24th 2008 10:20PM Playboy could do a few things to get back on track:

1) They have the inherent celeb advantage. Use it. Too many pictorials (like the Amanda Beard one) were incredibly disappointing because they didn't show anything. Mandate that you have at least one completely unobstructed shot of the celebs boobs. No hair, see-thru clothing etc... in the way.
That way if you saw a celeb on the cover you'd know that you'll get at least 1 good shot as compared to now where you don't know.

2- Stop w/ the freaking airbrushing. Women shown as they are is a beautiful thing.

3- Playboy playmates don't matter anymore. You can find hotter women showing more on sites like Perfect 10 or Met-Art so, going back to #1, focus on the celebs to drive the sales. It'll make the brand mean something again.

New games this week: Grand Theft Auto IV edition {Joystiq}

Apr 28th 2008 11:46AM I'm actually more interested in SNK Arcade Classics now that I found out Baseball Stars 2 will be on it.

Joystiq hands-on: Samba de Amigo (Wii) {Joystiq}

Apr 15th 2008 8:41AM I still have my Sega Maracas for the Dreamcast. They were $ 80 and completely worth it especially since my friend also bought a set.

Survey shows consumers aren't apt to trash analog sets post-cutover {Engadget HD}

Apr 2nd 2008 9:55PM I'm definately keeping mine. But, it's not for TV shows, it's for video games.

Older systems like the Playstation 1 and the N64 had quite a few games w/ 320 x 240 rez (like Mario 64, NBA Jam TE) that look awful on an HD set but quite good on the SD sets they were made for.

Platinum GameCubes now fifty bucks on Amazon {Joystiq Nintendo}

Feb 19th 2008 4:14PM Nope.

They sell them used for $ 30 so you'd be lucky to get $ 10 for it from them.

Win a Philips 42PFL5603D 42-inch 1080p HDTV! {Engadget HD}

Feb 5th 2008 4:22PM Would be nice to get it. That way I can finally justify purchasing an Xbox 360 or PS3.

Will the digital changeover make people put away the rabbit ears? Probably not {Engadget HD}

Jan 21st 2008 3:10AM I have just OTA because cable/satellite are just too expensive.

I'm not interested in paying $ 50 a month at least.

Wii Warm Up: 'Fess up to your gaming non-achievements {Joystiq Nintendo}

Jan 20th 2008 11:42PM Where do I begin. I've owned virtually every console and handheld since the Atari 7800. Even now I still have over 100 games and most of them I haven't beaten.

I have no interest in Zelda or Metroid games so I've never beaten any of them.

I bought Super Mario Sunshine at launch and only played it for 10 minutes that day. Didn't play the game again till 4 years later when I beat it with all 120 shines.

Just before Christmas I finally got the 120 stars in Mario 64.

I don't even have a Wii yet because I want to get through most of my 100 games before I get one. So, maybe a Wii in 2009, lol.

The VC Advantage: Down, R, Up, L, Y, B {Joystiq Nintendo}

Jan 17th 2008 9:17PM That price was in the US.

I remember it being at Woolworth in NYC back on launch day for
$ 74.99. Some other stores had it for $ 69.99.

Remember, back then (1992) SNES & Genesis games were $ 59.99 to $69.99.
