Oct 3rd 2007 8:48PM Cablecos sure can cut out about half of their 70 to 80 analog channels and have a basic 40-channel analog lineup. That alone would give them room for another 80 HD channels or whatever other digital stuff they want to put on their systems. The flipside is they would have to reduce prices for analog service a lot, so you can be sure they won't make that cut for awhile.

Sep 18th 2007 6:41PM As much as I love seeing Women's World Cup soccer in your listings, it is SD widescreen upconverted from PAL. Looks very good, but not HD sourced. The USA vs Nigeria game is a repeat, too. It happened early this morning.

in soccer, a friendly is like what Americans call a pre-season game. In yesterday's case, both England (Beckham's national team) and Germany were warming up to the qualifiers for the Euro 2008 tournament.
By the way, the Euro 2008 tournament will be in HD on ESPN next summer, before the Olympics. And the BBC broadcast that England vs Germany match yesterday in glorious HD from Wembley stadium in London.
