UFC 86: Bad Decision for Forrest Griffin Over Rampage Jackson? {Fanhouse MMA Blog}

Jul 7th 2008 2:31PM Forrest controlled the stand-up (sans the uppercut from Jackson that almost knocked out Forrest), he dominated the ground, tried for submissions on multiple occasions, yes Forrest won this match. VERY close, but he won regardless. Jackson's mistake was that he wanted to Knock-out Forrest, but failed to do so. Forrest Griffin out smarted Jackson in that chess match. Go back and watch the fight again, who was the aggressor and who was just swinging for the fences?

The Media Center Extender shootout {Engadget HD}

Jun 19th 2008 2:00PM The only issue i have with my 360 as an extending device is lack of wireless N support. I cannot get an HD movie to stream with out audio/frame dropouts. thre are also times when I'm navigating through the VMC options only to have delays occur. I'm not sure whey MS hasn't released an N adapter for the 360. I'd be content with the noise and bring my 360 back into my hometheater mix.

I do agree with you Ben that the 360's disc noise is a bother. i've spent a fair amount on my speakers and setup and even if i do turn them up, the quiet scenes always have me taking my eye off the TV only to glare at my noisy 360.

Paramount following Warner out the HD DVD door? {Engadget HD}

Jan 8th 2008 11:27AM WSJ: "Paramount/DreamWorks responded to Warner's shift to Blu-ray exclusivity today, saying that the studios have no plans to abandon the HD DVD format."

no plans vs. preparing

So which is it? I personally think it's Paramount is going to jump in the future, but these are two contradicting statements, that's all.

Ask Engadget HD: Which HD DVD player should I pick up for the holidays? {Engadget HD}

Dec 20th 2007 8:21AM Is there a big enough difference to justify picking up an XA2 over an A35? For some reason I have a feeling that an A4(0,5) series will be showing up sometime in Jan. ;) Should we just wait and see? Looking to upgrade my XBox Add on for better audio support.

Warner to finally go Blu-ray-only at CES? {Engadget}

Dec 7th 2007 2:53PM "When both formats launched and hardware prices were high, we made a decision to support both formats and let the consumer decide," said Silverberg. "But now that hardware pricing is affordable for both Blu-ray and HD DVD, it appears consumers no longer want to decide — so the notion of staying in two formats for the duration is something we are re-evaluating now that we are in the fourth quarter."

Sounds like they are "finaly going to Blu-ray" to me! Oh wait there was that blurb of the "he said that, he said...".

Ben, did you write this!?

90,000 HD DVD players sold in one weekend {Engadget HD}

Nov 7th 2007 3:24PM Ben,

That comment again points out that you are missing the point. I'm probably wrong but ANY company in the world of HD moving 90k+ units in one weekend is news!

Yes doesn't compare in the world of DVDs but I thought this was the engadgetHD part of this site? SO in comparison to what we've seen over the past few years in the world of HD, THIS IS NEWS because this hasn't been done before.

Maybe when DVDs go the way of the Dodo and there are 900k HD movies (Blu-ray or HDDVD) units moved in one weekend, this will not be news.

By the way, when was the last time a company moved a years worth of their product in one weekend?! Seems like news to me.

This story is more news worthy than...

90,000 HD DVD players sold in one weekend {Engadget HD}

Nov 7th 2007 2:20PM Ben, you said:

"This dramatically increases the user base for the HD DVD camp, but that's not saying much since the format only sold about this many stand-alone players in its first year. In the world of consumer electronics, 90k isn't that impressive,

I think what you are failing to see is that they sold 90K+ units in ONE WEEKEND. I don't know why you fail to see it since it is the title of this story. It IS saying "much" that a company can move just as many units in two days than it did in its first year out the door.

I know this may not mean alot, but i've had it with your lack of objective postings. I come to Engadget to try and stay away from pro HDDVD/pro Blu-ray sites, but this is ridiculous. I cannot rely on EngadgetHD for unbiased information and will look elsewhere for my HD info.
