Windows 7 already bigger than Snow Leopard and Linux combined {Download Squad}
Nov 8th 2009 9:50AM I'm sorry but this article is retarded. W7 has been out to anybody who's wanted it for months and months... of course they have a bigger market share when that happens, and most people know nothing outside of windows on their PCs.
ViewSonic's VMP70 media player does 1080p for less than a hundie {Engadget}
Nov 5th 2009 9:55AM Don't bother barking up that tree with Engadget bloggers, I've tried before... they just end up deleting your posts most of the time.

Nov 5th 2009 9:54AM MKV support is certainly important, but I really don't get these companies that make space-saving, itty bitty players, just to have to hook up a usb drive of the same size or bigger... it just makes it messy, rather defeating the purpose IMHO.

Prepare for digital music from the Beatles -- but not on iTunes {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Nov 4th 2009 7:03PM MacGuffin, No one cares you know how to use torrents. I'm pretty sure we all know we could do that.
Seriously though, what "fan" that's hardcore enough (and apparently really, really freaking dumb) to pay $280 for MP3 FILES?! Seriously, dipshits. That's who. It's a disgrace that they only give the the stereo tracks in flac, though it's nice to see corporate support for FLAC in distro channels, as dumb as they may be.
Corporate douche's really need to start a private forum to propose ideas to. It's free, damn accurate (if at times eccentric) market research.. there are just two many things that are released to thoughts of "WTF were they thinking?"
End rant.
N64 emulator for jailbroken iPhones on the way? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Nov 4th 2009 6:41PM It will most certainly be paid man, Zod doesn't put work into something difficult without getting paid; that's how he justified all the work he put into GPSphone to optimize it to what we have now.
That said, this is retarded unless iControlpad ever gets off their asses and releases something (and even still, as there probably isn't enough buttons still.) I get the feeling they're delaying to try to make it work with the 3Gs, but it really pisses me off, as we've been waiting for years now. Release it, and then work on an updated version for 3rd gen hardware!
Without some real external controls (or an external display, which defeats the purpose) there is _no_ way you'll ever be able to play any N64 game effectively, as the screen real estate for all the buttons simply doesn't exist.
New York attorney general files antitrust lawsuit against Intel {Engadget}
Nov 4th 2009 1:13PM Not a big fan of that whole "reality" shindig, huh?
It costs, best case scenario, MILLIONS of dollars to design and fabricate new chip architecture, never mind new manufacturing tech, etc. Said millions of dollars are easier to attain when you sell more products, which is hard to do(read: impossible) when someone with more money and marke share are actively making volume contracts and steep inccentives (legally, on paper, or otherwise) with distributors (who otherwise would buy more of your chips) to lock you out of being a serious competitor through volume economics.
I Dell plans to sell 100,000 machines this year, and intel will only sell them chips in lots of 100,000 (for the sake of the example) then they not only have no incetive, but it would be downright bad business to buy extra chips (from and or anyone else) when you already have your hands full.
Nice to see you make an intelligent addition to the forum though. Thanks!

Nov 2nd 2009 4:38PM I'm glad they figured ou how to beat google, at least. Until their next software update, which also adds walking directions! Imagine it:
"get off your ass, take a left out the front door in ten feet"
"get in your car and drive 5 miles to the airport"
"board plane,. Fly x miles.."

Fuji Heavy Industries outs friendless, autonomous farming robot {Engadget}
Oct 29th 2009 8:16PM That's an interesting mix of observatio-fiction you've got there.
Seriously though, an autonomous robot growing genetically modified plants in an artificially sustained greenhouse. I'm not sure if we're screwed or saved..
If marijuana is legalized though, think of the revenue the state could make from nearly no overhead crops after the first year.. Craziness.
