Mel Gibson: Perspectives from a Jewish Fan {Cinematical}
Aug 2nd 2006 4:34AM P.S. It is not anti-semitic to despise the actions of Israel in the Middle East. A nation borne of the most horrendous trauma in history, the nation seems addicted to trauma and to the idea that it is besieged all around. This heightens the sense of identity of the Israeli nation. See the psychoanalyst, Jacqueline Rose, herself a Jew, on this one.
If Israel, idiot-boy Bush, and Blair had anything other than imperial plans for the Middle East they would, for example, have been bankrolling Lebanon: incentivizing the country and its people to see that Hizbullah were no longer needed. Instead they bomb the hell out of Lebanon as a preamble to an adventure in Iran.
It's a scary world: why worry about Mel Gibson when we have idiots running the planet???
Mel Gibson: Perspectives from a Jewish Fan {Cinematical}
Aug 2nd 2006 4:28AM Were you able to speak Aramaic, you might have heard the infamous "blood curse" - an invention of Hellenic New Testament writers who wanted to curry favour with Roman citizens and prospective converts. This is exclaimed by the Jewish mob when they free Barabas. They declare that responsibility for the death of Christ should be "on us and our children." Gibson includes this but doesn't subtitle it.
Gibson, like the Christian Right with whom he flirted - quite bizarrely, given how *Catholic* his film is - is a bigot. However, he's also a pampered, self-regarding movie star. Presumably all his new, bible-bashing fans are praying for him!

When I asked why I wasn't having dvds sent to me promptly when I returned them, they told me I do so too quickly, which meant that I also wasn't getting priority in new releases.

AVS Forums: "Why Blu-Ray and HD DVD will fail" {Engadget HD}
Oct 17th 2005 11:10AM Blu-ray will succeed because the Playstation 3 will have it. However, that's in the long term. The extent of take-up will depend on average PS3 users hooking their PS3s up to HD displays - and how many will/ are doing that?
