May 5th 2008 10:33PM Actually thats not a bad computer for $1100. I went on newegg and built a similar setup for a total of $852, without the card reader.
So for another $250 you get a warranty and you do not have to do it yourself. Not bad compared to other companies like Alienware, where you can build their "high end" setups for thousands less. Hell, I know Gateway gets good discounts but from a standpoint of profit margins, they are actually getting real aggressive here.

Me and a buddy once helped set up a system by which a ship would float around the island with a WiFi Router amped up and a satellite dish for connection. I don't know how that turned out, but I imagine it'd of been ok till bandwidth was overloaded, and the patrol boats launched...
Other than that, home satellite connections and such are very popular, and there are rumors I've heard about some of those "trusted officials" putting in WiFi routers and letting people mooch off their connections for free.
So it can happen, just not very well.
And seriously, $780 computers that are that dated? I can build whats seen there for less than $400.

Apr 28th 2008 6:07PM You know, you can buy four 3870 cards cheaper than two 3870X2s.... so long as you don't waste cash on the MOBO, a board with 4 PCIe X16 slots or better (some 2.0 goodness) makes more sense than two 3870X2s.

Apr 22nd 2008 1:50PM Someone mentioned a car computer: I just do not need that level of distraction when I am driving.
Any computer in a car needs to work without any need for interfacing beyond what we already do with buttons and toggles. This is why iDrive is so hated, it just takes so much to do.
Anyway, this is a decent unit, TOUCHSCREEN! YES! That is a seller, I don't have to fiddle with some wheel or press buttons just touch the thing.

And to andero9, inflation is really just too much money. You can have to few goods causing prices to go up, but thats scarcity. Real inflation is when so much money is on the market that prices naturally trend upward to nab it.
Example: say interest rates are low, and people borrow oodles of money. When one person gets a ten thousand dollar loan, and spends $9000 of it, it becomes someone elses $9000. That person spends it.
Eventually the money is spent and respent. Look up "Money Multiplier" and "Money Supply" for more. Wikipedia has a good article right now, but of course you should look for sources that are not editable by just anyone.
As far as Inflation in China, since when? Where have I been since the Chinese market started tanking?
