REPORT: Evidence mounting that 2010 Audi S4 is underrated {Autoblog}
Oct 28th 2009 8:31PM Ah, so the numbers can vary by a bit, depending on who "calibrated" the unit. It would be interesting to see the numbers on a Dynojet.
REPORT: Evidence mounting that 2010 Audi S4 is underrated {Autoblog}
Oct 28th 2009 7:37PM It would help to know if that dyno result was obtained on a Dynojet, Dynapack, Mustang Dyno, etc and the correction factor used, if any.
Rambus drops patent suit against NVIDIA Update: only part of it {Engadget}
Jun 9th 2009 6:37PM The jury that found Rambus guilty of fraud for trying to patent technologies (which were part of JEDEC) says otherwise.
Rambus introduces 4.3Gbps mobile memory {Engadget}
Feb 2nd 2009 5:52PM I agree that Rambus sucks. They are patent trolls that tried to screw the consumer over with their trash. These guys do not deserve any support.
Will BD-Live finally shine in 2009? {Engadget HD}
Jan 28th 2009 1:57PM For those of us who appreciate quality and have the ability to display/reproduce it, streaming is a really bad option. All that streaming media (compressed junk) looks horrible and has sound to match.
Circuit City closings begin, lines form, bargains await {Engadget}
Jan 19th 2009 1:50PM I have to agree here that the "liquidation" is bad with the 30/20/10 percent off. Their items are so marked up that it's hardly a "sale" and you'd be hard-pressed to find anything cheaper than online. The whole point of a retail store is that you have someone to get back to if you have a problem with the product, which you cannot do here...
Oh, yeah. The only thing I have to add is the store location, which is in the Bay Area. Btw, the stores are packed here, even though the deals suck. Stay away.
Sharp gets with the Profile 2.0 program with the BD-HP16U & BD-HP22U {Engadget}
Jan 7th 2009 5:26PM I was wondering when Sharp would offer a BD Live player. I should have known when the prices of the 1.0, and 1.1 dropped like a rock.
LG Display plans to melt eyes with Trumotion 480Hz LCD TV {Engadget}
Dec 31st 2008 1:33PM @John
Just FYI, few 120hz tvs can do 5:5 pulldown at this time. They do 120hz with a cheesy 3:2 pulldown and double that, IIRC.
A lot of newer LCD tvs are doing 96hz now with 1080p 24fps video. Check it out on UAV.
Viewsonic introduces 24-inch, 1080p VT2430 LCD TV {Engadget}
Dec 15th 2008 4:39PM I've liked Viewsonic for a while due to previous experience with their products. The only issue with this new product is the brightness. 250 is very low, even compared with plasma. My current Samsung has a brightness of only 300 and it's not adequate for bright days (due to a window).
Btw, 1080p is fine for the distance it will be used, assuming you are not using it solely as a tv. It's like the difference between 1600x1200 and 1280x1024 when used as a monitor... super easy to see if you have 20/20 vision.
Having a tuner built in is a nice touch!
