Target stores selling PS3 at $499 {Engadget}

Jul 7th 2007 9:19PM Ever consider that Circuit City and Target are trying to get rid of PS3s that cost them money in storage and no sale? I think you will see less or hardly any PS3s for sale any longer until more games come out.

HD DVD making a run on Blu-ray in the release race {Engadget HD}

Jul 5th 2007 5:42PM HD DVD all the way for me... It will all be about dualdiscs eventually because Blu-ray people aren't gonna buy an HD DVD player and vice versa. People that spend $1000 or even $300 on a movie player aren't likely to replace it next week because of another format.

Xbox 360 warranty extended to three years {Engadget}

Jul 5th 2007 5:37PM Totally glad I bought the 360 :) Regardless of faults (mine is totally fine), Microsoft is now standing firmly behind their products.

European Commission looks into Blu-ray studio agreements {Engadget}

Jul 4th 2007 11:16AM Strike that comment... I totally misread that graphic. I'm a fool, I admit it.

European Commission looks into Blu-ray studio agreements {Engadget}

Jul 4th 2007 11:14AM I just wanted to point out that the graphic could be wrong since it says June for Blu-ray data and April for HD DVD data. Especially since June is "Year to Date" but April isn't.

Blu-ray won't be obsolete in 2007 {Engadget HD}

Jul 3rd 2007 2:56PM What a fool... Ben you are obviously a Blu-ray fanboi and thus this article has no merit. I would be mighty pissed if I payed $1000 for a Blu-ray DVD Player to realize I would have to buy a new one within a year for new features that HD DVD had all along for less money.

In addition I did click your "Tip us on news" link and provided a link to a Wall Street Journal article about the EU investigating Blu-ray. So here I will provide it to your readers: http://online.wsj.com/public/article_print/SB118341745768555943-kNVDQFP6HttfagW30Wtx2t2PHwY_20070802.html

Microsoft & Amazon are sponsoring 1,000 indie films on HD DVD {Engadget HD}

Jul 3rd 2007 11:58AM This is exciting news. I like indie films, this could really make my HD DVD collection grow. Another reason I bought HD DVD is the price, including the price of making movies.

I doubt it will change the format war too much except that in a few months Amazon will have 1000+ movies listed for HD DVD.

Teardown reveals iPhone parts cost two bills {Engadget}

Jul 2nd 2007 4:01PM As an 360 fanboi I have to agree that the PS3 is much more of a modern wonder than the iPhone and if forced I would rather buy the PS3 than the iPhone. I have never claimed the PS3 was too expensive as a multidevice capable of Linux, Gaming, Blu-ray etc..., I have claimed it was too expensive as a gaming console.

HD DVD's latest firmware update enables web features {Engadget}

Jul 2nd 2007 2:34PM The Xbox 360 HD DVD drive get its own updates from time to time thru Microsoft. I guess its upto Microsoft if they add these features (which I'm sure they will). Every now and then when I try to watch an HD DVD film I get an update.

Its nice to know they are fixing any problems. If your Blu-ray player had faulty firmware or new features were released you would have to wait for a disc in the mail as most don't have internet connectivity.

500,000 iPhones sold so far -- but can Apple keep up? {Engadget}

Jul 2nd 2007 11:33AM Actually MMS and Email are not the same thing. Dan is right! Lets say my number is XXX-XXX-XXXX and I'm with T-Mobile USA, what email are you sending it to? If you guess xxxxxxxxxx@tmobile.(net/com) then you are wrong. Doesn't work. So the average user cannot guess the correct email for every carrier or even which carrier owns a certian number (especially now due to number portability).

Without MMS (I love sending Vidoes I recorded) the iPhone can't even start to satisfy me. But then it doesn't record Vidoes either. The Nokia N95 on the other hand... works great as a phone. I have deep respect for the Quality of Nokia, as do most people worldwide.
