Seriously, you and your wife may want to consider diversifying where each one works unless you're near retirement. For example, if your CEO decides to play with the numbers and gets caught, both breadwinners can lose their job in an Enron-type meltdown. Also remember that mortgage and wall street companies were hiring like gangbusters less than 5 years ago, no industry is really safe forever.

Mar 24th 2008 3:59PM Why do automobile OEMs charge something like $1500 for navigation systems when you can buy higher-end up-to-date GPS systems for less than a third of the price? I swear, car dealers have even less credibility with me after one of them pushed for the option when I went car shopping last weekend.

Mar 11th 2008 4:22PM Though this particular model costs as much as some blu-ray players, OPPO also has the more affordable $169 DV-980H model, which I have. By the time OPPO releases a blu-ray, I'm sure component prices would have fallen and it may even be lower than the current model's $399 tag. While future OPPO models probably would be slightly higher in price than the mass-market models you see in big boxes, they will be very strong in terms of price vs. features and performance.
