Mar 19th 2009 10:44AM I was in a local blockbuster standing next to another couple that were also browsing the Blu-Ray collection. Then, the wife said to the husband, "don't we need a special player to play these discs." The husband said confidently, "no, it should play on our DVD player."
I overheard this and was dumbstruck. How could people be this misinformed? I calmly butted in and told them they needed a blu-ray player to play these discs. The husband gave me a snarky look and I still don't think he believed me.

Dec 27th 2007 8:16AM Can anyone confirm ABC and CBS will be getting the HD feed? I haven't seen anything spelled out to say otherwise? I can see the NFL Network keeping the HD to themselves.

Dec 5th 2007 9:41AM I agree. By the time 7pm comes along, Engadget is far from my list of priorities. If this list was provided earlier in the day, while most of us are in front of a computer all day, it would be much more advantageous. I seem to always be reminded the "day after" what I missed the night before. I can't believe I missed Rudolph in HD! Damn!
