Poll: What Blu-ray player will you be picking up? {Engadget HD}
Apr 13th 2008 1:50PM I was an early adopter (code for stupid). I've owned both a Toshiba HD-dvd player and a Samsung BD-p1200 bluray. They were both badly engineered and flawed.
I went back to my Panasonic standard player. I'll remain with it until I'm positively certain bluray is ready for prime time. It's starting to look like Panny's new 50 model may be the real deal.
Panasonic's DMP-BD50 Blu-ray player gets spec'd, "released" in Europe {Engadget HD}
Apr 10th 2008 11:09AM They're coming out with all this HiDollar, TruColor, 1.3 compatibility, Dolby & DTS HDSound, 1080p HiDef, etc.
I wonder if the average person's ears and eyes are spec'ed up to hear the subtle difference?

Jul 13th 2007 11:53AM I don't give a damn about PIP and other gimmicks, I just want the best sound & picture possible.
Think about it, after the newness wears off how often do you use PIP and the other usless crap designers incorporate into these machines. They should use the time&resources toward improving the machines intended function which is to produce half-ass decent picture and sound.
