ie: in a dark room with controlled lighting or in a well lit living room with sun light pouring in
You also have to factor in a screen.
For $2,000 you could get a passable video system (screen and projector) with significant WOW factor (100"+ screen), but you would be looking at having to have a light controlled room and a fixed screen to get the most out of it at that budget. For $1300 you may be able to swing a low budget system, but you would have to use a 720P projector and/or a CHEAP screen. Hopefully you already have audio taken care of otherwise you would need at least a cheap HTiB setup.

Apr 1st 2009 10:24AM You don't have to be old to act like a grandpa. I'm just referring to the antiquated notion that you should not buy something unless you can pay cash for it. Thats just not a reality anymore.
And yes, credit is an economic necessity, even if you personally can afford to buy an 89 Fiesta with cash. Whether you like it or not, the entire world economy is built on it, from micro-loans in India to billion dollar lines of credit held by the car companies you religiously follow.
Just because you buy a car with credit does not mean you are living paycheck to paycheck, in many cases its more financially responsible to purchase with credit and hold onto savings.
With respect to cars I won't even get into the details of the point that when car loans are around 0% its not too bright to buy a car for cash when you can get a loan for 0% and put the cash in the bank earning interest.
Finally, Erik, you are really missing out, Matlock is a great show.

Guess you haven't heard of the Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable being released soon by Monoprice.
Whats its like going through life just tossing out uninformed BS as you go. These Mac Minis may not be a bargain and may not be a great update, thats subjective. But the HDMI comment you made is just dumb. Especially with the upcoming cables and audio out, even an old mini-dvi adapter + audio cable would work. I just don't get your comment. I guess two cables is too much for you to figure out...
But I should know you are just being contrary, and not feed the troll.

SF IV allows you to map a three-button-press (such as all three punch buttons) to any of the controller buttons including the shoulder buttons. So that that reason for avoiding the Madcatz fightpad is not a smart one at all and really makes no sense.
However, I bought that controller and hated it. Its already been returned. The D-Pad was just a blown up version of the XBOX 360 D Pad and I thought it was unresponsive and mushy, it basically sucked. Its also corded and the cord it does is not long enough. Just my opinion though, some others have given it good reviews. I also felt noobish using turbo buttons. Haven't used those since NES advantage.
