The Hot, Wet Movie Trend of 2009: Puking {Cinematical}
Jun 25th 2009 2:38PM I would like to praise Mr. Snider for his use of the verb "to chunder." Bravo.
Also, vomit is hilarious. The more vomit in films the better!

May 19th 2009 4:48PM Just to second Chris' reports - I was pulled over on the Interstate in VA doing 86 in a 65 (not the fastest car either, mind you, just the one who got nailed). Well, in VA any speeding ticket over 20mph is an automatic reckless driving charge, which in VA is basically the same as a DUI (*cough*mr. teetotaler*cough*) - including super heavy fines and potential jail time.
On a reckless charge in VA, you've got a mandatory court appearance. I live in Northeastern PA and where I was pulled over was more than six hours away, and the court date was midweek during a time I couldn't take off work.
So, I hired a lawyer, and ultimately he was able to get the charge reduced to a normal speeding ticket, etc. Sure beats paying $1k+ in fines and potentially jailtime - also beats a round-trip to Virginia to appear in court.
The moral is, yeah, some lawyers suck, but to claim they're all scum and boast you'll "never" need one is a little absurd. Even if *you're* not doing something wrong, it doesn't mean a situation won't arise where you'll one day require a lawyer's services.
Summer, the Season of Free Outdoor Movies {Cinematical}
May 6th 2009 10:48AM It's still deciding whether or not it's going to start the transition to summer in Scranton, PA, and I'm not aware of any public movie showings, but last weekend it was warm and a friend fired up his projector on the side of his house. BAM! Instant free outdoor movies. With beer. And no annoying kids.
Future Classic: Jeep XJ Cherokee {Autoblog}
Apr 21st 2009 2:38PM As a matter of fact, maybe you can assist. I've been using my mom's '98 on and off for years since I stopped driving it myself, and I've been occasionally using it to tow a small pop-up trailer. I've been having a maddening overheating problem with it, though, and I've now replaced just about every component of the cooling system. It only gets hot when it's pulling hard - does fine on the highway, does fine around town, does fine with the trailer on it in both cases... until I start pulling uphill at lower speeds.
I've been trying to run this problem down for a couple years now, and was wondering if you might be able to think of something off the top of your head, since you seem to be pretty knowledgeable about the later model XJs. If you get a chance, please fire me an e-mail at hottes@gmail.com . Thanks!

Did Internet Fanboys Save 'Terminator Salvation'? {Cinematical}
Mar 24th 2009 1:10PM That's a good thing... unless the ending WASN'T the "spoiler" version, and the execs were like "hey, cool!" and then used that ending instead. Part of me wants it to happen like that for sheer, delicious irony.
