Dec 1st 2008 6:22PM I don't know of any wineries that say they use stelvin (screwcap) or artificial corks because it saves the environment. The primary reason is due to flawed corks and it's effect on wine. The Wine Spectator claims close to a 15% flaw rate.

I've had one for a few years and try to not wear in public. It's great in the car (doesn't get caught in the seatbelt), hotel room and on conference calls though.
They do look goofy though, esp when people wear them whether on a call or not.
