Poll: How important is surround sound to you? {Engadget HD}

Nov 15th 2009 5:18PM Semi-important. When watching a BD or similar, I'd much rather have it, but if it's not there, well, I can sortof do without. For most TV shows (which, here in the UK, are stereo) I can do without it. Just.

Nov 4th 2009 12:28PM For the email accounts, there's also Notify. It's more of a notifier than anything else, but it's quite useful: http://vibealicious.com/apps/notify/

The 2.0 version has support for multiple accounts other than Gmail, as well as reading the full message and basic replying within the app, but it's only available in a private beta at the moment.

Oct 27th 2009 5:06PM So, about that UK link.....it says that ours would be available in 2008. It's not 2009. Any idea if/how I can get one?

Poll: What is the best Blu-ray player? {Engadget HD}

Oct 25th 2009 4:37PM PS3 for sure. Plenty of features, support, and updates, plus it plays games.

iPhone's Google Maps app now shows ads {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 10th 2009 6:48PM If it's related to what I'm searching for, easy to tell what is or isn't an ad, and isn't too intrusive, I don't care. But in return, I demand Google Latitude.

Oct 8th 2009 12:52PM Please don't bite my head off for this, but it's a Windows question. About iTunes.

So basically, up until a while ago I was running iTunes under OS X, and when I purchased anything, such as an iPhone app, or any music, it would simply buy it. Same thing for app updates. It asked me for my password ONCE, and then never again.

The problem is, I've moved that same library to a Windows machine, and now whenever I buy something, or update any iPhone apps, iTunes always asks me for my password, even though I ticked the "remember" box, and it's really annoying.

I know it's not only me either, someone else I know has the exact same problem as me.

Any ideas?

Oct 7th 2009 3:46PM Sony 1080p 40" LCD TV, Sony 5.1 speakers running off a Sony STR-DA1200ES, and a Sony PS3.

If you see a trend, yes, my dad likes Sony.

And honestly, 5.1 is fine for me. The amp can do 7.1 (or 6.1...I forget), but I've had 5.1 since about 2002 and it works fine for me. :)

Sep 28th 2009 6:03PM Why is the competition only open to US residents? I can see the point for larger items (say, a MacBook), but for something small and moderately light like this, international postage can't be all that much more. Oh, and the extra 90 seconds required for the customs form.

Any chance of letting other people enter in the future? :)
