It's September 19th, do you know where DirecTV's HD channels are? {Engadget HD}

Sep 19th 2007 3:30PM I have the same NFL troubles and also with MLBEI. It has to do with the new interactive features software the D* has running for when you hit the buttons. It's basically a layer between your remote and the broadcast to give you new features like the scoreboard and player updates. I can't stand the delay either but it is what it is...and the player updates are quite cool.

Sep 19th 2007 9:46AM If you don't have to subsidize the phone through the contractual payments then the rates and charges will go down. You will know exactly how much it cost to buy the phone and how much it costs for service. Right now they can charge whatever they want and get away with. They make you feel better by giving you (or discounting) a phone. This needs to be put in place immediately.

The Manhattan: skip the cherries! {Slashfood}

May 14th 2007 5:21PM One other thing.

If your bourbon is good, why mess it up with more vermouth?

You shouldn't need a lot of vermouth in your Manhatten so long as you stick to quality bourbon.

The Manhattan: skip the cherries! {Slashfood}

May 14th 2007 5:19PM Basil Hayden's and a splash of Sweet Vermouth are the only ingredients in mine (no bitters).

On the rocks or shaken and served up, I prefer mine with a cherry.

Apr 10th 2007 3:25PM Nice job, mj. A well though out response.

I have always wondered why the crappy cars on the road are basically immune from these issue. In Illinois, cars are required to pass an emmissions test, but those can be rigged to pass. And the older the car, the less stringent the passing criteria.

Also, since the government is hell-bent on displining the American auto industry, why don't the spend some time going after the semis, freight trains, and school buses.

Feb 6th 2007 5:35PM CJ,

I can understand where DrfitPunch is coming from. The first thing I thought of was the Mako Shark II concept car that was envisioned in 1963 after the release of the Stingray and introduced to the public in April 1965 at the New York International Auto Show.

I don't think anyone is interested in a pissing contest, as the Miura is truly spectacular. But there is no denying that there are similarities between the two cars.

Here's a link.

DirecTV to carry 100 National HD Channels in 2007 {Engadget HD}

Jan 9th 2007 3:05PM To Burn (and Will),

Your suggestion was tried a few years ag by VOOM (which has since been absorbed by Dish Network). They were going to be the first HD-centric (still a few SD channels) provider. Unfortunately, I think they were a little too ahead of their time and people just weren't ready for them.
