Te Sony also costs 1/2 a much. Still making it unafforable. It was one of the first LED backlit displays on the market.
I've seen the Sony display in person it is quite fantastic. I imagine the Samsnug would look just as good.

Jun 14th 2007 1:41PM There was a great need to put blue ray in the ps3. Otherwise it would not have been a blue ray player and we wouldn't be talking about it on the HD version of a home gadget blog.
The original xbox has a 5gb harddrive that is not user upgradable without hacking it. The PS3 comes with a 60 gb drive and can take a standard usb external drive to store more media. I don't know why you would even TRY to make it seem like a worthless feature.
I store my DVD's and my Cd's on it. it's very convient when I don't care much about video quality. I can also watch any web content on it, use it to check tv schedules, movie and play times from my couch.
The remote works through wall and from about more than 60' away. I can turn up the volume, listen in the next room and still change songs if I want to.
I don't worry about the internal power supply breaking in any other piece of equipment and the PS3 seems to be well designed. With all of the hate Sony gets from people like you if the units failed I'm sure I'd be forced to hear about it.
I have a bunch of PS3 games but I don't really have enough time to play them all. I spend much more time watching TV and movies , listening to music and surfing the web.
I did like Blue ray before the PS3 simply because burners existed for the PC and it holds 25 gb per disk. How ever if most of the movie studios supported HD I'd have a HD player and a data burner. As it sist right now most movies I want are for blue ray and it's a more accessable computer data format.
As for your "third times not the charm" for the PS3 how, as a piece of home entertainment gear, is it not a solid buy at $600?
Your in an a/v forum arguring aginst a piece of a/v gear based on your dislike for Sony and a bias in video gaming.
In what way is the PS3 not a good piece of home entertainment equipment? What would you recommend that I replace it, and how would it be better?
