May 29th 2008 2:57PM Bad. DTS-HD Master Audio as the only source is terrible idea. Because not everyone has the ability to decode DTS-HD Master Audio. PS3 barely got this feature.
LPCM is universal with HDMI audio. Everyone who has a AV Receiver that doesnt just do PASS THROUGH is good to go with PCM.
The studio is most likely encoding TrueHD as 24-Bit audio as it would take up less space then LPCM 24-Bit.
The PCM track is still uncompressed but only at 16-Bit (Just an estimation)
Paramount is doing it right by including a PCM track, TrueHD, and AC-3 track. Its beyond universal , and everyone will be able to get insane audio quality on day 1 of its release.
