New Western Digital WD TV Live media player hits Best Buy {Engadget HD}

Oct 12th 2009 10:38AM This is a very nice box. Netflix would be nice as it's the second reason why I keep my Tivo box. With the new network connector, and DLNA support, this box is showing a lot of promise. I already have the original box, and my only complaint about it was the lack of a network port. This is the most affordable, and reliable, boxes out there right now.

Sony PSP Go game dev taken aback by lofty ESRB rating costs {Engadget}

Oct 12th 2009 10:18AM Yet another useless organization playing the middle man. Why won't parents stop being lazy and look into what their kids are playing on their gaming consoles or videos they watch. What are they afraid of? Looking cool, outdated, or old fashioned is not a concern in parenting.

Sidekick failure rumors point fingers at outsourcing, lack of backups {Engadget}

Oct 11th 2009 10:12PM Too big to fail? ahh, never mind.

PS3 manufacturing costs down 70 percent? Strange, it doesn't feel that way {Engadget}

Jul 31st 2009 6:22PM The PS3 is a good streamer. If you set up your computers/servers accordingly, you can stream a lot of your content to the 360 or PS3. Although I have a lot of BD discs, I stream all my stuff.

Netflix Watch Instantly coming to Windows 7 Media Center {Engadget HD}

Jul 31st 2009 4:42PM AndyS:
No, I haven't tried Windows 7. I do have Vista Ultimate. I'm very excited about Windows 7, and did download it from TechNet. But, with the official release coming out in a matter of weeks, I've decided to wait for it. The last Service Pack they released for WHS was an excellent addition. I no longer need to run Tversity because of it. But, Media Center, at least for Vista, needs some updates. I'm not sure what, if any, updates for it MS will come out with.

Again, MS should bring some sort of Media Center on WHS, with the option to add DVR feature for those who may want it. I like the GUI of Media Center and some of its exclusive content. Bring that to WHS and they'd make a lot of people happy.

Netflix Watch Instantly coming to Windows 7 Media Center {Engadget HD}

Jul 31st 2009 4:18PM MS needs to make Media Center capable of playing more codecs. Not playing mp4 is silly these days. Also, it has to make sure that the features don't stop at the computer level. Being able to have those features on extenders is the desire result. Also, maybe have some sort of non-recording version for Home Server would be a great addition.

I love my WHS, but I can't justify having a pc dedicated to running Media Center when it has so many limitations that could be easily fixed. Merge them together, and it'd be an amazing OS/Application.

HP debuts 2709m 27-inch 16:9 display {Engadget}

Jul 31st 2009 3:46PM Agree. I'm a bit disappointed that manufacturers keep on pulling off this huge bezel game. They're not fooling anyone. My 40" Samsung has a very nice picture, and a 1-2" bezel that prevents me from placing properly in the cavity on the wall along with the other components. So it sits there at an angle and looking terrible.

iPhone OS 3.0.1 update released, fixes SMS vulnerability (updated with statement from Apple) {Engadget}

Jul 31st 2009 3:26PM This more than likely has the Pre blocking included too. I used to love Apple and the whole iPod experience. But, they've lost my love and business a long time ago. They've gone from an inclusive, and welcoming, group of creative people to an exclusive and "our way or no way" sort of thinking. I can't go for that. (sorry about the Hall & Oates reference)
