Format War: Interactivity vs HD supplements {Engadget HD}

Dec 5th 2007 11:00AM Actually the post is wrong, Warner is pulling a fast one and having both HD versions with the same MSRP of $35.99 or you can get them at Amazon.com for $24.95.

Looks like HD DVD definitely has the better deal here.

Nielsen VideoScan High-Def market share for week ending November 25th, 2007 {Engadget HD}

Dec 3rd 2007 10:40AM I don't think that any of the players Toshiba has sold since its $99 A2 is really going to make a large impact until after Christmas and everyone opens their presents and starts watching a few movies, then rentals and purchases will pick up quite a bit more for HD DVD. I would say the majority of players that were bought durring that weekend and black friday are for presents. Especially since we don't see any of the HD DVD numbers going up dramatically. January will probably be a turning point, but Toshiba and HD DVD supporting stuios need to keep up promotions (and Venture needs to get their player at retail price of $99) to increase the bang after Christmas.
