HD channel expansion roundup {Engadget HD}

Aug 17th 2009 1:43AM Whatever happened to the "BBC America HD is announcing carriage deals very soon" report from a couple of weeks ago?

FiOS TV expansions: August 2, 2009 {Engadget HD}

Aug 2nd 2009 9:16PM Verizon and DirecTV have had the bundle option for ages. I've had a bundled service for a couple of years, except I didn't get a free laptop or camcorder for signing up. Now if they would just finish installing the FiOS in my neighborhood, I could get that laptop after all!

BBC America promises HD feed announcements "soon" {Engadget HD}

Jul 23rd 2009 2:40AM Well, they lost a viewer for the Torchwood event this week because no HD on DirecTV (thank god the BD is out next week). Would love to see Being Human in HD.

HD channel expansion roundup {Engadget HD}

Jul 5th 2009 12:13PM Anyone know if DirecTV will be carrying BBC America HD when it launches on July 20th?

FCC says DTV transition going smoothly, few TVs shot up {Engadget HD}

Jun 15th 2009 11:25PM What really sucks is that for people who purchased UHF "HDTV" antennas (antennae?) and were able to pick up all of their local channels because they were all on UHF frequencies, they got a big surprise Friday when channels started dropping off after the rescan because several channels in their markets switched their UHF digital signal to a VHF frequency. I lost three channels in my area. Totally sucks and just doesn't seem to be the right thing for those stations to do after being on UHF for so long. I'm really pissed about that.

Mike H, I'm in Baltimore too, but I can still receive 11 and 13 for some reason (although 13 won't come in on the rabbit ears on the upstairs TV), but not 7, 9 or 50 in D.C. I have a Terk UHF antenna in my attic that picked up everything just fine until Friday. The switch from UHF to VHF should not have been allowed IMHO.

Digital TV transition: 12 hours in, how are things going? {Engadget HD}

Jun 12th 2009 4:40PM I did the re-scan and actually lost a couple of local digital channels I used to get. Hopefully they'll be back. Also, DirecTV had no local HD channels on the air. Only a message that said they were fine tuning the locals. Shouldn't they have been ready for this like the rest of us??

Up director discusses Blu-ray extras with Cinematical {Engadget HD}

Jun 2nd 2009 2:38AM UP has more heart and soul than most live action films, and - I know this is sacrilege - for my money a much more engaging film than the over-hyped WALL-E. Looking forward to the BD!

Chelsea Lately drunkenly stumbles into 1080i {Engadget HD}

May 25th 2009 12:35PM It would be nice if DirecTV and Verizon carried E! in HD. Who else has it besides Comcast - which owns E! ?

FiOS TV expansions: May 16, 2009 {Engadget HD}

May 24th 2009 1:11PM Haven't seen a new expansion report yet (it's May 24th), but I am thrilled to report FiOS is finally moving into my neighborhood in Dundalk, MD (Baltimore County). Verizon has begun installation of the large box and cables and they say it should be about three weeks. Now all they have to do for me to switch from DTV is upgrade their DVR with a larger hard drive capacity or add an eSATA expansion port.

Linksys discontinues its Extenders for Media Center {Engadget HD}

May 17th 2009 12:37PM I've had my Xbox 360 since Christmas, and for the life of me I cannot get it to connect to my Vista laptop. The software installs but the minute I try to connect to Media Center, I get an error message saying something is in use that is preventing it from connecting. I've gone through every "solution" I can find online and nothing works. I was actually looking at the Linksys extender, but I guess I'll put that on hold now. For me, the whole Media Center Extender has been worthless.
