Revision3 takes on our favorite topic with HD Nation
We were big TechTV fans back before it was killed by Comcast and swallowed by G4, and like most old TechTV fans, we're very fond of the work being done by Revision3. But starting this week we became even bigger fans since the online video network launched a new show on our favorite topic. The twenty minute episode is hosted by Patrick Norton and Robert Heron with the first episode covering some of their favorite Blu-ray demo material, as well as the HDTV calibration discs and 240hz LCD TVs -- so yeah good stuff. Overall we were impressed and look forward to them diving into some deeper topics down the road. And yes, of course it is available in HD.

Its like a spin off DL.TV. I been a big fan of REV3 since it was founded. Great programming and better stuff then what I could get that's on really TV.

This episode seemed rushed to me. I like a lot of Rev3 content and I'm happy to see Robert at Rev3 but this particular episode seemed like it was on fast forward. For example when Patrick is talking about Good Fellas on Blu-Ray, he says "1.78 widescreen" but the infomation overlay says "1.85:1", its about 8 minutes in. Also the viewer email was a simple Google search or forum search answer. How many times has calibration been covered? I know its important, but obviously the viewer knew something about calibration, he couldn't just make a decision without consulting Patrick and Robert? Anyways, overall I am happy to see a HD tech show at Rev3, but I hope it doesn't get watered down.

Ugh - Patrick Norton. Why does he always have a chip on his shoulder, use the work "suck", and do bad imitations of what Joe Executive sounds like?

I'd just like to point out that the show isn't lit well or exposed properly.
They should really be able to get that right.

I like the new HD feeds Revision 3 has put up recently. I changed all my feeds and things are obviously less fuzzy on my TV.

@ dmccall Agree. Norton is actually very passionate about many technology topics. It's a shame he feels the need to over-animate every point with exposition, the word 'suck', or really bad character voices that he feels drive the point home. Watch his other shows and you'll see that behind that grin is a grown man, tormented.

I think Drew Carey and Patrick Norton will make a great team. ;)

This was actually entertaining. I agree it did feel rushed which is sad but maybe with some exposure it will get a longer time. Anyhow I enjoyed this and hope to see more.

Whoa, what the hell happened to Robert Heron? Step away from the couch.
