LG's WiFi-enabled, DivX-friendly BD390 Blu-ray player now shipping
LG continues to up its game in the Blu-ray department, first shipping the planet's first Netflix-enabled BD deck and now shipping the planet's first DivX HD 1080p certified player. Yep, the BD390 -- which was originally unveiled back at CES this year -- is now making its way out to eager consumers, boasting an 802.11n WiFi module and support for DivX streaming from a DLNA server. The pain? $399.95, but at least that includes BD-Live support, 7.1-channel audio output, 1GB of inbuilt memory and a USB 2.0 socket.

Erm...this one from Samsung also appears to be Netflix enabled - not that this is of any use to us in the UK yet!!!

Both look pretty tasty bits of kit to me though!

LONGWORTH702 @ May 19th 2009 12:26PM

LG was the first to do Netflix, this unit still supports Netflix, and its been on the shelf for a month now. THE BDP1600/3600/4600 do netflix from Samsung too. The upside of this unit is no Dongle for Wi-Fi. THe upshot of the Samsung is you can use the Dongle on a Sammie TV too for the internet widgets, The 1600 unit isn't the Best Wi-Fi deal, since the dongle in $80

So this:
plays Blu-rays (of course)
streams Netflix
streams DivX files from your computer
Only thing it's missing to replace my PS3 is Hulu support.

I picked this up on Monday. I had purchased the Samsung 3600 on Friday, but it went back for lack of DIVX HD support and other codecs..
I really like this LG. Netflix, YouTube streaming services look great. Includes Nero MediaHome 4 lite, upgraded to fullversion for $23, added transcoding for other filetypes.
Very happy with the purchase. It has actually given me a reason to sit in the living room again...LOL

anyone know if the usb port on it supports ntfs drive?
