TSN2 coming to Rogers Cable lineup
Congratulations, Canada, finally TSN2 HD is available for the masses, now that it's completed a deal with Rogers Cable. Expect the new channel to show up tomorrow ahead of a Blue Jays / Red Sox three game series. Sure it wasn't in time to catch the NBA season, but given the Raptors' struggles last season, that may have been for the best.

The rest of the country had this channel on day 1 or shortly afterwards.

Yeah, Rogers is quite a small provider in the scope of the whole country. Shaw has had it from day one, Bell has had it from day one. That has to be at least 80% of the television service in the country. Everyone in the west has Shaw, a few are stuck with Bell; and as you move east, the phase shifts so almost everyone has Bell and a few have Shaw. I don't know of anyone that has Rogers, but it may be more popular in the east.

Was that sarcasm? Nearly everyone in Southern Ontario has Rogers, which just so happens to be Canada's largest market.

Are you insane? Rogers is the largest cable provider in Canada! 2.3 million subscribers in Ontario, New Brunswick and Newfoundland.

i would love to have it down here in the US. we get crap for live hockey.

TSN2 doesn't have much live hockey. If you want a lot, you would have to get Rogers SportsNet. They have the contracts to have all of a local team. RSN Pacific has all of the Canucks' games, West has the Oilers and Flames etc....TSN just has like one game a week. CBC has two. But I understand the problem. I am a big NFL fan and it's like pulling teeth to get games up here.

You mean Rogers doesn't own TSN? Give 'em time.
jordanandallison @ May 18th 2009 11:04PM
No; TSN is 80% owned by CTV and 20% by ESPN (ABC [Disney]). Rogers has their own sports network, and it's great for local sports but the overall coverage sucks.

Rogers is the largest cable company in canada. As for bell and show making up at least 80% of the service. That is not true not even close more like 40%.Shaw is small vs rogers and is very limited.Bell while is coast to coast should have more customers then they do.
