GefenTV Wireless for HDMI Extender does one to one, or many streaming
Gefen's silver coated WHDI towers may have taken a little longer than expected to get here, but for $899 they might do wireless HD streaming differently enough to arouse your interests. Using Amimon's 5 Ghz tech, it can switch from one to one streaming with HDCP for tossing Blu-ray or upconverted DVDs around, or switch over to broadcast mode, supporting up to 5 remote receivers getting the same video stream, albeit without HDCP. Maximum range is 100 feet line-of-sight and it supports resolution up to 1080p30 with Dolby 5.1 surround audio, that enough to get your credit card out? Picture of the back is after the break, specs beyond the read link.

"Maximum range is 100 feet line-of-sight..." Is there no way for this to work without line-of-sight? Or am I missing something entirely?
Thanks.

Only 30fps 1080p? not enough for Blu Ray full 1080p, it'll need to be down res'd to 1080i. And 100ft line of sight, but what about obscured? Seems unlikely that you'll have a system configuration that is set up with line of sight access. Thanks, but I'll save the $899 and buy a $40 cable

Really, what is the Point of spending all of this money for a wireless HDMI setup that's weak. If it's not at least 1080P/60, forget it, and over priced. Besides, unless your POWER cable is also wireless, your already having to run a power cable, so you might as well run a HDMI and possibly a Ethernet cable anyway. What are you going to do have your wireless HDMI cable and the Power cable running down the wall to a outlet?!?!?! LAME.

Wow, I could buy a SECOND HTPC with Blu-ray and digital cable tuner for that price and call it a day.

This is expensive and mostly useless technology, in my opinion. There are compromises in picture quality and sound quality, and wireless will never be as reliable as wired connections. When passing through physical barriers, range is greatly decreased. It's just not a good idea.

Line of sight? Serious pass.
