DirecTV's free iPhone app manages 100k downloads in its first week

Shockingly enough, people seem to be interested in the possibility of easily browsing TV schedules and programming their DirecTV DVR from the iPhone / iPod Touch, for free. Available for just one week so far, it's already ticked over 100,000 downloads so yeah, it's popular, our only question is what's next? You've probably checked it out by now, let us know what features need to be changed or added, or just tee off on the fact that your TV or cellphone provider hasn't unveiled a similar setup yet, we're listening.

If you switch to Dish Network in June you will be able to set recordings from your iphone and watch. You will also be able to use your iphone as your remote at home. Just an idea.

If it's possible, it'd be cool if when searching channels you could pull up your favorite or custom channels instead of having to many to search through.

Im using it. Did lastnight. Wanted to record Leno but it was blacked out for some reason. Had to go and set it up myself. Otherwise I love this thing. Great free app.

They have had online scheduling for a long time, yet they still have no iPhone app after two years. They are starting to remind me of Palm....

It works great! I only wish it knew my favorites list. You have to scroll through tons of ppv channels, DTV Spanish, etc. that I don't care about.
