iTunes 8.1.1 update adds support for HD rentals, but where are they?
Consider the "where are the HD rentals in iTunes?" question partially answered, now that 8.1.1 has brought the advertised functionality to the desktop according to its own release notes. Some iPod and iPhone sync issues have also been addressed, but we know what the people want. Unfortunately, even after installing the update none of the $5 rentals in high definition are anywhere to be found, only SD. The wait continues.

HD on an iPhone is silly. As for Apple TV, did they sell many?

The post might have mislead you a bit. You can't sync an HD file to an iPhone or touch, that would be silly.

It's on the HD Movies page in Itunes Store. Oh, and guess what.......There are only 17 to choose from!!! Apple has to be Kidding, Cmon Apple its really simple open Itunes for HD rentals and consumers will rent!

I didn't realize that iTunes was being open for HD rentals. I thought you were only able to rent the HD from Apple TV. I am glad that you will be able to buy from iTunes in HD though. Now I can buy HD movies; the HD shows look great on my AppleTV. I wish they would open the floodgates to purchase all movies available in HD rental available for HD purchase though... hasn't happened soon enough

Looks like they've finally added them.
