Plenty of tru2way demos planned for The Cable Show in April
Yes, we were disappointed by the lack of tru2way at CES. Luckily, next month's The Cable Show should give a bit of a lift, with interactive program guides, games, chat, web browsers and more on display. Samsung is the most notable hardware name we noticed on the list, but with only set-top boxes, home networking and portability apps on the menu our question of when its compatible TVs may go one sale will likely remain unanswered. Check out the release for the full listing, whether 2009 is the year of tru2way or not should certainly be more clear once the show is underway from April 1-3.

Nothing listed in there about ATI Digital Tuner Cards ;-(

I was kind of worried that Tru2way would obsolete my TiVo. But it seems that the lack of news, let alone anything coming from CableLabs, seems to show that this tech is way off. Although cable isn't going away, by the time tru2way is ready for prime time, will the market have evolved to make it DOA?

I really hope that TiVo is there showing off a "series 4" box that is supposedly in the works as a tru2way device! They are not mentioned in the article.

I noticed in the press release that neither ATI, Microsoft, or TiVo are mentioned.

The last thing I really want is yet another box, unless it's a Tivo Series 4 with tru2way. What about the television manufacturers? I will be far more interested in tru2way when they start incorporating the tech into their new sets so we can get back to digital cable ready sets.
