Denon throws in the Blu-ray player free with certain receiver purchases

It's not often we get to bust out "Denon" and "great deal" in the same post, but these are strange days indeed. Now until April 30, you can purchase certain Denon AV receivers, and they'll throw in the DVD-25000BTCI Blu-ray transport for free. For as low as $1,199 for an AVR-2809CI or the high end AVR-5308CIA for $5,499 and all that clean digital audio and video decoding is yours as well. Who's got the recession antidote now?

Wow..that's fantastic. 2500BTCI is a terrific player. I need to see if I can return and repurchase my 2809ci so I can get this free player :)

Just out of curiosity, if someone can afford over a grand for a new receiver right now... do they really qualify as 'distressed' in this recession?

Don't you know that being able to afford an item is no longer a pre-requisite for actually purchasing said item? Have we learned nothing from the mortgage and credit card companies?

I just purchased a very expensive watch, you bet I looked for a good deal. Virtually everything I buy is for 20-75+% off retail and I know exactly what I am getting myself into before buying. This allows me to have more for less.

People with money don't piss it away just because they have it. It is the stupid people who blow money the second they get it, and the smart ones who think through their purchases. Promotions like this will certainly push a lot of people to buy - it is a good value (not to mention, if you get a nice discount on the receiver itself + getting the free BD player).

Looks like people are clearing out their stock of the DVD-2500BTCI in order to make room for a new player. I first noticed something was up when some of the Best Buy stores are selling the player at half-off, and are listed as clearance.
