Pioneer launches new KURO plasmas in Australia
No need to wait for the CEDIA Gold Coast expo to see new plasmas from Pioneer, as the company has just announced a few new KUROs for those residing in Australia. The 50-inch PDP-LX509A and PDP-C509A have both been officially announced (though whispers of 'em have been circulating for a few weeks now), and the MSRPs are expectedly staggering. AU$6,499 for the LX model, AU$5,499 for the C509A -- yeah, ouch.

What's up with this? Surely Pio did not really just launch Kuro 9G in Australia now, almost a year after they launched it in the rest of the world, or? Can Pio Oz really be *that* far behind?

Actually, Australia and NZ ( and I live here on the beautiful Gold Coast) are often used as a testing ground for main stream products before launching elsewhere in the world so we often get products long before the rest of the world, then sometimes languish way behind in others.
For instance, we have the Panasonic blu ray 500GB player recorder that many in the USA will be waiting a long time for, if ever, yet the Pioneer is lagging behind here. Pioneer is very much a niche product though.
