I've been searching tenaciously for one for a few weeks and there seem to be none left anywhere near me. If you really want to upgrade you'll be able to sell yours good-used for some good $$.

Mike

Comments on Three new Blu-ray players from Panasonic: BD60, BD80 and BD70V

Panasonic had a problem with the chip manufacturer who supplied them with needed components for the BD-35k and BD-55k, so they decided to scrap the whole thing and focus on these models. That is why they are scarce. That being said, I would have to disagree that these will be much more than the previous models for long. Otherwise people will just buy Sony's PS3 or standalone models. Either way competitive pricing is the name of the game.

BOE

Comments on Three new Blu-ray players from Panasonic: BD60, BD80 and BD70V

I wonder if the BD70V is going to play SACD. If so, it would be interesting to have another alternative to the Denon DVD-A1UD (too expensive for me to bring home and justify to the wife) and the Oppo BDP83 (which I can sneak in without too much fuss).

Lo Toney

Comments on Three new Blu-ray players from Panasonic: BD60, BD80 and BD70V

I just bought the BD80 for $399.

TJE

Comments on Three new Blu-ray players from Panasonic: BD60, BD80 and BD70V

It looks like the BD70V is a VHS/DVD/Blu-Ray combo.
