This is actually REALLY old for an Apple music player. Griffin Technology developed a similar solution again utilizing the headphone port of old iPods, like 2nd and 3rd generations and included a playlist of commands (channel up, down, volume up, down, etc) and you would play the selected command. It never took off and this seems easier, but while the implementation looks infinitely better this time around, let's give credit where credit's due.
