QED's Revelation speaker cable is probably really expensive
QED's cabling is better known over in Britain, but Lenbrook America is hoping to get the strands into American homes. The cable is said to be a fusion of the company's high-end Genesis and X-Tube technologies, essentially pushing top-tier cable philosophies into a "mid-priced" product. The cable itself relies on a "figure 8" configuration and packs ten 99.999% oxygen-free, silver-plated cores, and while exact figures aren't disclosed, we're told that it's priced between the Genesis Silver Spiral and X-Tube. Which probably means "between expensive and outrageous."

If you spent 4/5 grands per speaker you can probably afford the right cables too , if you did'nt they would'nt change anything of your system's sound anyway.

Just because they're expensive, doesn't make them "right". In fact, some speaker cables WILL change your sound, but not for the better. Some esoteric speaker cables actually introduce a filter network, which either intentionally or unintentionally attenuates certain frequencies (basically bleeds off part of your sound).
Expensive cables look nice, that's it. If you care for your sound, you'll stick with back, pure copper and leave the hype to the fools with too much money.

But can you hear the Monster difference? lol
Blackstar @ Jan 4th 2009 6:21PM
Nope. No one can. They switched them with a regular coat hanger and could not tell the difference between them and cables costing hundreds. For the wattage and distance 99% of the people out there do not need anything special. Regular lamp cord gauge wire is just fine and no one has proved any different.

Hey. Check out Blue Jeans cable. They are cheap and well made. Also the high-end audio world is crazy. After a certain point you pay insane amounts of money for super small improvements.

I would not call Blue Jeans cables cheap. They are reasonably priced, and from what I've heard, are of very good quality. I like the amount of detail and "up front" info about the cables. But it is hard to call them cheap, when you compare them to monoprice.
