Why would anyone pay that much for something that doesn't have support for the new HD audio codecs like TrueHD and DTS-HD MA? I know the Carver name is legendary, but to me those should be basic features on any new equipment coming out... Seems like they're just riding on the name and not giving any value to their product.

well if you can afford an amp like this, Im pretty sure your blu-ray deck is gonna be able to easily supposrt every HD codec itself. I dont think its that nessesary.

Why do the codecs need to be in the pre/pro? Blu-ray is the only source for DTSHD-MA or Dolby Tru-HD. Just buy a Blu-ray player with the Decoding built in.
