It's not like HBO has yet to dangle its feet
in the online delivery waters, but we've yet to see a bona side streaming service from the channel that does it justice. According to a recent e-Rewards survey, all that could be changing. The questionnaire contained information about the network's plans to "offer online streaming of programming free for people who subscribe to HBO through their cable provider." Better still, the inquiries were geared more towards a naming convention -- "HBO Click," "HBO Select," "HBO on Broadband," "HBO GO," "HBO To Go," and "HBO Online" -- hinting that the groundwork may have already been laid. If HBO can figure out how to deliver
Entourage and the like to paying customers online within 24 hours of programs airing live, we can't help but think at least a few more folks would pony up each month to dive in.
[Thanks, Steve]

How about a for pay online streaming service for those that don't subscribe to HBOs pay TV service? Come on HBO, give me options that will make it easier for me to drop Pay TV.

I dropped HBO a year ago, trying to lower my cable bill. $17 a month was just way too much for the content that I was watching. I'd pay for an online subscription and live with lower quality if the price was more reasonable. Seriously, how much longer do you think it will be before the production studios just go straight to the web sites and cut the broadcast and cable TV stations out completely. That will really be the impetus for dropping cable service.

I remember doing a survey on one of those websites for this exact same thing probably 2 years ago now. I remember thinking the same thing about being able to watch entourage at work, unfortunately I don't think this is very indicative of anything coming soon...

Umm.. HBO on Broadband exists.. If you look you will find.. I was in the Beta test in our area last fall for the service and it had since launched in our area.. It gave TWC subs, that subscribed to HBO, an Online portal to their OnDemand programming and also their LIVE Main Feed.. Software did need to be installed which makes it a lil harder to access on the road w/o a laptop of your own.. Ive never heard that the serviced Died, Ill have to check my main PC to see if I still have it installed and see if its still active..
The service BTW was great.. But seeing I dont have a lappy it didnt make sense for me to watch on my PC's 19' LCD instead of my 50' HD set..
