Centronics intros its own pivoting head HDMI cable

We get the feeling Panasonic really started something its swivel-head HDMI cables, as we've got the relatively unknown Centronics bringing its own iteration to the table. The EHD-branded HD FLEX 90 degree pivoting head HDMI cable does precisely what it says, enabling users / installers to hook up HDMI-equipped gear in tighter spaces with less pressure on the sockets. The prices aren't too outrageous either, with the 6/12/24-foot strands ringing up at $39.95, $49.95 and $69.95, respectively.

That one is nice as well, but this would be more inline with this specific cable:

Is there really any point of having a pivot hdmi cable the interface it self is not that big.

Maybe younger people never heard of them, but anyone who's been in computers long enough knows Centronics invented the first standardized interface for printers which was used for many years until USB came along. I know many people who still use it and think it's less problematic than USB.

Centronics designed connectors were also used in SCSI applications and in a lot of other specialized areas. They were known for their high quality, but expensive designs.

Centronics - I drive past their old headquarters building all the time... Yes, they once ruled the Printer and Printer Interface/Parallel world. After a few mergers...they are now: TallyGenicom

It is nice, though even a more gently angled plug would be nice. I'm not real fond of the way the ends of HDMI cables are molded, because it does end up sticking out pretty far, and a lot of the cables are stiff and heavy, so it puts a lot of stress on that little flat connector. I had problems with my $8 HDMI cable I got about a year ago, but I was able to do some ghetto strain relief and keep the contacts in place.
