TWC brings ABC Family, FX, and SPEED HD to sunny San Diego
TWC may have struck early with two new ones for San Diego back in November, but Cox has been the one laying down the gauntlet of late. To that end, Time Warner Cable is shooting back with a new HD trio for the residents of the California city: ABC Family HD (735), FX HD (752), and SPEED HD (793). We could probably get used to this back-and-forth thing, don't you agree? [Disclosure: Engadget is part of the Time Warner family][Thanks, Michael]

TWC Desert Cities which is owned by TWC San Diego added USA HD and CNBC HD. I expect E! HD, USA HD, KUSI HD, CNBC HD, and SciFi HD to be added soon. Maybe early next year or late this year. They promised 10 to 15 new HD channels in San Diego. Maybe we will get 15 new HD channels. Who knows for sure but a subscriber notice has confirmed this.

WTF what is their $%(*@!#*(! deal with not getting SciFi HD?

TWC has the rights for SciFi. A legal notice mentioned that TWC San Diego will add SciFi and USA HD by late February but that might come early. Maybe by the time BSG starts. Some TWC divisions have this channel already.

Well there is nothing showing on the IPG with regards to those 3 HD channels on TWC North San Diego County (ex-Adelphia)! And what the Hell is taking so long for them to add VS HD and Golf Channel HD?! They have the channel split, but for a week now, nothing is showing.

This is for the non ex Adelphia area that uses SA equipment. I too am wondering what is wrong with VS and Golf HD. Bio HD was added but still has an authorization screen. Maybe they will fix it next week. ABC Family did show some HD movies but it's usually SD.

The SA Equipment sucks. But it's the only stuff that's firewire capable.
Glad to see new stations though... they've really ramped up in the last few months.

VS HD, Bio HD, and golf HD are down on the SA network. Maybe asking Bob Barlow could also help. I didn't report those channels up to engadgethd since they're down atm. Bob Barlow seems to be committed in adding new HD channels. It also mentioned some more premium channels in HD. Once the channels are up I will tip them for the news.

SciFi HD, Bravo HD, CNBC HD, and USA HD are now added to the SA network. That area isn't the ex adelphia area. They still have E! HD and KUSI HD. TWC is still in talks with KUSI. These new channels are all SDV but KUSI HD won't be SDV. Now you can watch BSG in HD.
