Epson introduces 1080p EH-TW3000 projector
Epson's EH-TW3000 isn't much to look at, but we all know it's the innards that count. The 1080p beamer sports the company's 3LCD technology, a 20,000:1 contrast ratio, 2,000 ANSI lumens, a 10-bit video processing engine, whisper quiet design, twin HDMI 1.3 inputs and a 3-year warranty. In other words, it's housing everything you need to make your movies look great, but it'll cost you a stiff €1,614 ($2,084) in order to bring one home.

$2000 msrp is quite reasonable. But how is this different than their "UB" line?

Do not confuse the Japanese MRSP with what the MSRP will be in Western countries. If it does come in at $2-2.5K MSRP in the states then it'll probably street about the same as margin isn't high on these things.
Still, for someone looking to get into home theater in a projected-way then this is an excellent step forward to offering 1080P to Joe Six Pack.

I havent tried their UB line but I own a tw600 and love the thing. The above comment about the western pricing is good to keep in mind. For some reason, at least when I got mine, Epson decided to try to charge 2x the price in the USA compared the the rest of the world, so you could find the tw600 for 2k, or the USA version of the tw600 for 4k, and there was no difference between the two. So if you do go looking for it look for an international dealer so you can get the European version.
