Samsung's BD-P1500 gets firmware update, Netflix streaming not included
Man, we're beginning to sound like a broken record when referring to BD-P1500 firmware updates. Back in June, we were miffed when a Profile 2.0-less update hit; if you'll recall, it was months later before BD-Live capabilities were added. Today, we've seen the deck's more flamboyant siblings receive updates that bring along the highly anticipated HD Netflix stream, yet the corresponding v2.1 BD-P1500 upgrade offers only "improved playback compatibility of some movie titles." 'Course, we never heard specifically that said feature was destined for this player, but wouldn't it be nice? Yes, yes it would.

I would be cool with SD Netflix on this player, btw.

Good, it can finally play all of the James Bond Blu-ray titles now! Too bad about netflix though.

Now, hopefully it will fix the problem I have with starting the player and it says it's playing a disc, but no disc is in the tray and the screen is blank.

People complained when Samsung wasn't releasing firmware updates frequently enough to fix playback problems (and rightfully so). However now Samsung is releasing firmware updates more frequently to fix playback problems and people are complaining because they aren't adding new features with every update. Sheesh.

updating mine now. taking forever. if this is due to the player and not the samsung severs, there is no way that they could stream even SD netflix to this

I would rather get blockbuster streaming as I won't pay a montly fee to stream 1 or 2 movies a month.

Byrdman, there were 2 different firmware releases just put out. I looked at the firmware numbers as they updated, & mine also did the same thing today. No reason to worry or be concerned... :)

So, after updating my player, the Iron Man Disc will not play anymore. All other discs I have play fine. Just the Iron Man BD fails to load. I just get a blank screen after inserting it.. Anyone else have this problem?

I have the same problem after the new updated FW. My Iron Man does not play now...only the Additional features disk...

My BD-P1500 just decided to quit playing everything .. this player seems overly finicky about media. So it is going back, I can get a top rated Panasonic Blu-Ray today for the same price.
