Now that
Black Friday is behind us and Cyber Monday is but hours away, we're curious to know what kind of deals you snagged yesterday. Find anything particularly noteworthy? Were you disappointed with the "sales?" Feel free to chime in below with how you contributed to stimulating the
economy while jazzing up your home theater.

Nothing ON BF was worth my attention. My wife normally goes and camps out somewhere, but even she decided not to do that this year, because there was little of interest.
The good news for me was that most of the deals came on earlier, and online. I ended up getting a great price on the PS3 (though a special Amazon $150 off promotion) and a 42" Panasonic Plasma. Both were not purchased on BF, but were certainly "because" of it.
tlarkin79 @ Nov 29th 2008 12:24PM
Didn't bother running to the stores. Made some good purchases at Amazon and newegg.com though.
H Choi @ Nov 29th 2008 1:30PM
I hear ya man. Its just irks me that some innocent employee was killed just because people wanted to save a couple of bucks. They definitely deserve some coal in their stockings this year.
CCB0x45 @ Nov 29th 2008 4:06PM
I also got a great deal on a Panasonic TZ5 off newegg that even Frys with their huge ass lines was selling for $100 more, I dont understand black friday at stores, it seems like the really good deals are online anyways.
Marshall @ Nov 29th 2008 6:33PM
Odds are, many of the people in the crowd weren't even there to buy...they were there to shoplift. I mean, think about it, if you were a professional shoplifter, what's the one day a year that you would be sure to visit the store?

I hope those pathetic morons at that Long Island Wal-Mart are proud of the fact that their greed killed a man, especially when there really are no god deals this year and most stores offer the pricing throughout the weekend. I'm about to go out and get a 37" LCD TV that is -- WOW! -- the same price that it was yesterday, and I'm not going to be trampling anyone to death over it either.
JDS @ Nov 29th 2008 12:35PM
grabbed a Samsung 5th gen. 40" LCD for $799 from Sears, had to go to Sears becasue
Wal-Mart was already sold out @ 8am.......
also grabbed a S-550 Sony 2.0 BD player for $299 w/ free 2 day Amazon Prime shipping
thought both were great deals
Marshall @ Nov 29th 2008 12:47PM
Stayed home, got a great deal on a refurb Onkyo 706.
T-bone @ Nov 29th 2008 12:57PM
Slept in, thought about buying a Inspiron 530s for the TV, but couldn't get my brother's additional 17% Dell employee discount quick enough. So, in all, I spent $0 from the comfort of my home.
Maikel @ Nov 29th 2008 1:08PM
Went to Target on time, walked out of there in less than hour and got everything I needed including that 26" LCD for $300.
Rushed home, hooked it up and I'm actually impressed with the picture quality and the features set.
Cody @ Nov 30th 2008 4:31PM
Hey, how was that tv....my mom got it for me for christmas to use as both a tv and a monitor...anything extra cool stand out to you?
Rhino @ Nov 29th 2008 1:10PM
stayed @ home
waste a whole day on the stupid compusa live webcast and the so-called never works 40% HP live cashback.
a lot junk food
Bought nothing cheap
feel shame on myself
Jerrod Hofferth @ Nov 29th 2008 1:22PM
Well, they were both fairly mild-to-moderate deals, but somehow I ended up with 50" Samsung 1080p plasma and a Harmony 550 for $59. :-)
h0mi @ Nov 29th 2008 1:59PM
I was running around trying to get qualified on a mortgage for a house I'm trying to buy. Regardless, there were not any deals that made me want to brave the long lines other than Hulk at Fry's (and I passed). I bought Xformers from Amazon on Thursday.
Big John @ Nov 29th 2008 2:55PM
I was appalled by the behavior of humans in the US yet again, so I didn't venture outside yesterday.
Garst @ Nov 29th 2008 2:59PM
There's nothing I really needed to buy, so like Hell I was going to deal with stores. Beside, I had to go into work, not because I had to work, but I did put in a full day because I really wasn't doing anything anyways. And if I'm driving 30 miles, I'm going to make it benefit me.
Miggity @ Nov 29th 2008 3:17PM
Black Friday is for idiots.
AR @ Nov 29th 2008 3:29PM
Agreed. But I would revise that to Black Friday B&M deals are for idiots. You can either wait out in the cold and possibly be trampled to death like that poor sole at Walmart or you can sit in the comfort of your own home and get the same deals (or better).
The most epic BF deal of all time had to be the 40% off your best price at HP.com thru the Live.com link via cash back. The other good one was the Panny DMP-BD35K Blu-Ray for $149.99 at Sears.com.
Alex @ Nov 29th 2008 5:04PM
didn't go to a single store, woohoo!
kcmurphy88 @ Nov 29th 2008 5:22PM
Stayed home and watched some of the movies I got last week.
drphil7 @ Nov 29th 2008 5:40PM
I stayed in but got a great deal on Left 4 Dead (39.00) and Call of Duty: World at War for 360(49.00)$ on amazon so im happy with that.
JimC @ Nov 29th 2008 5:40PM
I picked up a Samsung BDP-1500 for $198 at walmart...
josh @ Nov 29th 2008 6:11PM
My best deals was on amazon for the BDP-s350 for 200, and Lightroom 2 for 125
Mike @ Nov 29th 2008 7:09PM
I stayed home...got transformers BD for $10 at BB.com on eating thursday... then $15 iron man and $15 kung fu panda on amazon fri day morning at 215am..then saturday scored a number of bond movies for about $7 piece on amazon... all blu ray movies.
jordanhoby @ Nov 29th 2008 8:49PM
Bought a dozen movies or so Blu-rays online, almost all from Amazon, which matched all the best prices.
Andy Sullivan @ Nov 29th 2008 9:01PM
A lot of people stayed home because there were only a few really "wow" deals out there. Seriously, where were all the blu-ray movies?, I saw three major brand name blu-ray players (Sammy, Panny, and Sony) advertises and one (Magnavox) lower end player. Almost every store had the same few digital cameras advertised at so so prices. A few LCD's under $1500 but no 120hz models. No plasma's over 50". It's like they were all trying to get rid of last years stuff. All in all a pretty weak effort by the retailers. They will blame the economy but the blame falls at their feet. The on-line dealers offered way better options than the B&M's. hhgregg had the Panny BD35 for under $200 delivered, amazon had several blu-ray movies under $15 including Iron Man, Sears and Kmart had the Sony S350 for under $180 but good luck finding one. One guy called Kmart the day before Black Friday and was told they had one in stock. Bummer!
sn1per @ Nov 29th 2008 11:18PM
I was lucky enough to get one of the Amazon "customers vote" PS3 bundles, so I got a PS3 + pirates trilogy on bluray + BluRay remote for PS3 + LittleBigPlanet for a grand total of $200.
And I completed my order from the comfort of my bed, to boot. I'd say it was a great day.
DIRAN ONI @ Nov 30th 2008 7:09AM
Amex reducing limits on all my CC.......... best deal ever.
scyber @ Nov 30th 2008 11:42AM
Spent 2 hours in line at office depot only to find out that the last of both items I was targetting were bought by the guy 3 people ahead of me in line.
LonnieDvD @ Nov 30th 2008 1:50PM
I finally went down to Wal-Mart Friday night, they still had a ton of DVD's for a super cheap price. A couple of them were too good to resist.
Big Sam @ Dec 1st 2008 8:50PM
I drove past the stores waving at all of those waiting in the cold while I went to catch my flight to Mexico.
