We have the 46" (46A950) sitting next to the 50" Elite (PRO-111FD), and with both calibrated, the Pioneer walks all over the Samsung unless you are DEAD CENTER on the TV, then they are closer (Pioneer is still better).
Other issue, and the deal breaker for me, is you still get a lot of 'blooming' with a bright object surrounded by darkness (for example, movie credits).
