While I agree with you that I wouldn't want a piece of "sidekick" memorabilia, you did make it sound like you had no idea that this was from the movie. I think the reason they chose this instead of the Joker is because this actually is a mask in the movie, while the Joker is paint on a human face. This was probably a lot easier to make because it doesn't have to look life-like, as a face would.
Do guys even pay even the most remote amount of attention when watching movies? The "sidekick" wearing that mask in the opening scene WAS THE JOKER. I mean there was a close up of the Joker's face, as he was taking the thing off in front of your very eyes, on a gigantic brightly lit screen in a very dark room. Was that still too subtle for you? You must be the retards who can't go two minutes without texting, completely oblivious to the world around you.

What the crap is that? That's not even close to the joker. That's some stupid clown mask.

Um, did you see the movie?

I take it that you haven't even watched the movie yet, eh?
If you have watched the movie, you would remember the awesome opening scene.

You "Bozos" take a look at this:

Now, to not confuse you, it's the one on the right.
Does Heath Ledger's Joker look anything like this joker of a mask?
No.
Who wants a mask commemorating one of the sidekicks of the Joker?
