DISH Network cans six retailers for sketchy behavior
You can say whatever you please about DISH Network's service, but don't ever say it isn't guarding its reputation like a hawk. Just a month after the satcaster made known that a TV pirate went to the slammer for rebroadcasting its material, we see this: a notification that six retailers have been "terminated." Why, you ask? Because DISH was given reason to believe that the dirty (half) dozen had "engaged in illegal activity including fraud and misrepresentation when establishing customer accounts for DISH Network service." DISH goes on to proclaim that it "does not tolerate illegal activity and will take action against any retailer that it believes has engaged in any form of fraud or misrepresentation in its dealings with DISH Network," so if you've got a questionable deal lined up with one of the six outfits listed after the jump, we'd hop on the line and initiate a cancellation as quickly as possible.

So what was the fraudulent behavior?

I noticed that several of these retailers that were kicked out were in highly competitive markets with FiOS (Fort Wayne) or U-verse (Dallas, Austin) in addition to the cable incumbent. Maybe they were doing anything to push a sale (lying about the competition, DISH's packages, and such).
Kudos to DISH Network for protecting their reputation.

I recieved a flier in the mail for Dish Network. I ordered TV service and Internet service. It was suppost to cost me about $80.00 per month for both. Currently I have Dish Network for TV sevice and Hughesnet for the Intenet and it cost me $130.00. This not what I ordered and currently Dish Network and the Retailer will not do anything about it. It appears Dish Network does not care about there customers or service. Dish Network does not care that the retailer divided my account with another company. My account should have been with Dish Network for both TV and Internet. Dish Network is receiving money they never had before so what do they care, That is the atttitude Dish Network has and displays.

I'm sure the "active" was changing existing customers into new customers via a different name and phone number. Happens all the time.
What i don't understand is how Dish continue to let an Installation company like SOUTHERN STAR continue to monopolize the installation market. Dish pays this company in units or hours based on type of W/O (work order) and in such requires them to bring the system completely up to code. I have personally sub contracted for Southern Star and can say that this RARELY happens, yet Southern Star still excepts FULL pay for the W/O....isn't this fruad?
I went to the Abiline TX market for a huge migration, we ran on 8-10 W/o a day and NONE of these jobs were up to code, yet this is the market that thier past 2 or 3 managment promotions came from! how is this so? the Austin market is better, but not by much. Southern Star stopped routing me because i started to keep a picture library of thier inhouse tech's HORRIBLE work. I say the monopilize because they will cut any contractor that produces SOLID numbers or gets too many techs and has potential to out preform them. This is just some of my knowledge about them, what about how they cancel customers W/O's that get rescheduled because they become older than 30days and SS does not get paid for it...leaving customers FUMMING.
HOPEFULLY someone with DISH reads this or gets it to the right people...Charlie, I thought of bring this to your attention on CharlieChat but didn't want to blast you on TV for thier shady work. if you'd like to know more or see these pictures first hand (before and afters) feel free to email me directly...
