I don't think even at extremely low player prices this new technology can make a change in anything, especially due to the fact that I don't see studios and everyone AGAIN trying to publish and replicate new discs. Even with Blu-Ray where everyone got on-board, it's still uncertain whether they'll make it on the market and against digital downloads.

I think today, it's not so much about player price anymore as it is about the price of the content and this new technology will restart the adoption cycle one more time and if Blu-Ray has it hard to catch on mainstream due to other ways of getting content, this technology won't have a chance starting in 2009.
