The Dark Knight Blu-ray Bat-Pod display case gets pictured

Back in September, we heard that a limited edition The Dark Knight box set would be motoring onto the scene this December 9th, and now, we're being assured of that. The HD Room has acquired a number of images detailing the Bat-Pod package, which will include an exclusive display case, Gotham Uncovered: Creation of a Scene, Batman Tech: The Incredible Gadgets and Tools (in HD), Batman Unmakes: The Psychology of the Dark Knight (also in HD), a few other bonus features and the feature film in 1080p with a Dolby TrueHD 5.1-channel audio track. Seems a lot of money for a plastic figurine. Games do this all the time, slapping a $20 on the price of a "collectors edition" which is the same game but in a metal box with a few trinkets that hardly cost more than a few bucks to make.

It'd be funny if it wasn't for real.

The sad truth is some people go for this sort of outrageously over-priced tat.

I don't think it's worth shelling out the extra bucks for this statue. At Best Buy stores in Canada, we're getting another collector's edition along with the batpod one.
