Someone tell Comcast it can forget that whole
bandwidth cap nonsense and just take the rest of the year off after meeting its CES
Project Infinity goal of over 1,000 HD choices available this year. Whether that's more or less HD than you get on satellite is open to a
pretty loose interpretation, but doubling the amount of HD available last year is worth celebrating. We'd be able to cheer this a bit more loudly if just aired shows like MTV & CBS shows and
Mad Men were more consistently available on HD VOD quickly, but we'll just roll that into next year's goal of 3,000 HD movies per month On Demand.

Yay! And in typical Comcast style, they are all so compressed that theyl look like they're showing movies from VHS tapes during scenes with even a modicum of action!
Oh, golly! I'm so happy now!
*cough*

I hate it that they advertise this way and get away with it. You can't measure the number of on demand TV shows against the 24 hour HD channels available on Fios. Let's say all of those on demand shows are 2 hour movies. That's only 500 hours of programming. Take that 500 hours and divide that by 24 hours in a day that an HD channel has and you have 20 channels worth of HD programming. Fios in my area currently offers 100 HD channels. That means they provide twice as much HD as Comcast is boasting about.

well put! I hate their mislead term, choices, also!

Why do I care about the amount of stuff in HD available On-Demand when they have only 28 non-premium channels available in HD? Give me the same amount on non-premium channels in HD as DirecTV or FIOS then maybe I'll be a bit happy. Com-crap is the biggest rip off and I would be rid of them if I had any choice at all in providers.

Who gives a rats ass about VOD? Not me. I want REAL choices, real channels. They can worry about expanding VOD when you've matched the channel lineup of DirecTV or Verizon Fios.
Here's hoping Verizon's Fios makes it to my neighborhood soon. Then I can have a provider who has decent channel selection, higher quality picture and sound (less compressed), AND VOD for those who want it.

Comcast is such a joke. Who gives a rats-a$$ about VOD? When you can match or at least get close to Directv or FIOS in regards to the amount of premium HD channels (without all the compression), then advertise.
This is what their slogan should be:
"Comcast, the most compressed HD channels, ever."

Switched to directv months ago, and couldn't be happier. Can't believe how much better the picture is (HD AND SD signals), and can't believe how much better the should quality is as well.
Seriously I don't know WHY ANYONE WOULD STAY WITH COMCAST!

I would switch in a heartbeat if I had another option available (aside from OTA). Sadly I don't have southern exposure which rules out Satellite, and Verizon's Fios network hasn't been built out in my neighborhood yet, nor is there an eta of WHEN it will be (tho some surrounding areas do have it).
Here in the Seattle area I don't think Comcast is expected to add anymore HD stations until sometime next year...probably after they start reclaiming the basic tier stations to digital.
Ya gotta love legal monopolies like Comcast. They're crap-tastic!
