Cablevision officially adds five new HD channels for iO TV customers
There aren't too many new channels here to get jazzed up about, but at least they're real. Yep, those five newcomers we heard about at the beginning of this month have officially landed on Cablevision, bringing the grand total of HD channels available to iO TV customers up to 65. MTV HD, VH1 HD, CMT HD, Fuse HD and NHL Network HD have all joined the EPG, though some areas may not spot them until October 16th. Hold back any pent up rage till then -- after that, feel free to call someone up and vent.[Thanks, Peter]

So it's really only 1 HD channel as the NHL channel is the only one that's actually had any HD programming being broadcast on it.

Fuse Excellent Adventure is broadcast in HD. And it's actually a pretty good show.

Why bother having more HD channels when the quality on Cablevison sucks so bad as it is. This will just take away much needed bandwidth from other channels, that actually show HD programming.

I just hope they have Sci-Fi HD ready before the last part of Battlestar Galactica airs...

I hope NHL Network HD is on the basic HD tier!

It's available in the SportsPak or with a subscription to NHL Center Ice.

Does anyone know if NHL Network HD is on SDV?
Rob @ Oct 16th 2008 8:59AM
It's not SDV. The only SDV HD channels are VOOM.
Proghog @ Oct 15th 2008 11:58AM
Why add these channels when there are so many other HD channels they could add like A&E, SciFi, USA, ESNPU/Classic/News, BBC America. Cablevision, your lucky Verizon hates Connecticut.
Rob @ Oct 16th 2008 8:59AM
Verizon doesn't hate CT, except for the part of Greenwich that is west of the Mianus River they are not the telephone company, AT&T is. If you can't get POTS from Verizon you'll never get FIOS.

That is wack. so MTV HD and VH1 HD don't actually have any HD shows on it yet?
