This sounds very much like the monitor I bought recently but with a digital tuner added.
That's no bad thing, there's not a stuck or dead pixel on it and the performance is pretty good (those brightness levels & contrast ratios are PC monitor spec not TV spec tho).
It's a lot of monitor 'real estate' for very little money considering how much 24" screens have been until recently.
HDMI & VGA connections too.
It's a pity it doesn't come with a dedicated xp driver (vista only) but mine works perfectly with the latest Nvidia & ATi graphics drivers (it just means you have to learn to use the buttons, instead of an on-screen menu, to adjust the settings such as turning down the contrast & brightness - and you will want to turn them down).
If you already have a TV tuner on your PC you could save a few $/£/€ and just buy the monitor. The HG281D monitor is about $470 from Newegg & Novotech have it around £260 right now.
That's what I call a bargain.
The built-in speakers are better than nothing, just, but probably the first thing that would annoy.
But a link to a proper 5.1 hi-fi receiver is the only way to go really anyways so who cares about them?
1080p is fine @ 28" (27.5" visible) - so long as you're using it like a monitor and reasonably close to the screen.
Movies & games look superb on it.
You could do a hell of a lot worse for a stack more cash.

HANNspree? I haven't seen one of those in years. Only models I remember are the ones that had sports theme bezels.
