Another first is coming to
Wichita: local news in high-definition. The area's CBS affiliate, KWCH-TV, just began running commercials to get residents psyched up about the impending transition to HD. When it flips the switch sometime later this month, it'll be the first local station in the region to air its newscasts in high-def. Something
tells us the others won't be too far behind, though.
[Thanks, Gabe]

I'm not sure Roger Cornish and Merril Teller are the first newscasters around town I wanted to see in HD, but whatever. Whoo, HD news!

Another HD show is great. But is KWCH going to do anything about their HD brodcast signal. Every time it is a windy day it cuts out awful. Will seriously suck when we can't go to analog.

KWCH has never been my number one pick for news quality, however, after this happens, it will be the only Local news I will watch until others follow. Screw news quality, I want me some Picture Quality! Can't wait to watch Weather in HD, hopefully KWCH will get some of those fancy 3D maps, those would look stellar in HD.

WELL, KWCH WENT HD AND IM NOT TOO AMUSED! THEY COULD HAVE DONE BETTER, THE WEATHER GRAPHICS AND MAPS ARE STILL THE SAME EXCEPT THE BACKGROUND HAS A DIFFERENT GRAPHIC. THE STUDIO IS THE SAME AND IF U ASK ME THE NEW GRAPHICS JUST DONT DO JUSTICE COMPAIRED TO THE NEWS STATIONS IN KC. NOW WHERE IM FROM WE GET ALL THE KANSAS STATIONS. TOPEKA, WICHITA, AND KANSAS CITY. TO ME KC HAS THE BEST NEWS. THE GRAPHICS ARE AWSOME WITH 3D MAPS AND ATTRACTIVE EYE CATCHING NEWS ANS GRAPHICS. SORRY PEOPLE, NOT TO PUT DOWN KWCH 12 BUT I THINK THAT THEY COULD HAVE DONE BETTER!
