It seems to me that you would need to have whatever it is you're plugging into the HDMI input be something you wouldn't use too often. Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way, but wouldn't this thing need to be on to change the input or would it do the switching with it off? If it could do it automatically while it's off, it sounds like it could be a good idea. If not, it seems like something that would be taking up too much room and using a much-needed input.
